12 Warning Sign of Diabetes - Do You Have Any of Them?
"So how did you finally realize you have diabetes?" I asked.
"More symptoms of diabetes start to show. The on my feet was healing even after 2 weeks," She replied. "I told my grandma about it and immediate went for medical consultation."
At the young age of 18, Tina was diagnosed with diabetes. Had she detected her illness earlier, she would have avoided the complication now.
"Can you tell me the signs of diabetes, Tina?" I requested.
"Sure!" She agreed immediately.
We spend the next few hours talking about the causes and sign of diabetes. It was almost 6pm when we are done. I felt compelled to let you know more about the disease.
So, I quickly put the 12 sign of diabetes here as shared by Tina.
Here's what I gathered from her:
1) Frequent Urination. Some times the frequency can be as high as hourly. This is because the excessive glucose is to flush out of the body through urine.
Why so? Because the kidney cannot absorb all the sugar (glucose) in the blood, and so that's the only way to get rid of these sugar.
2) Excessive Thirst. Even without getting involved in physical and intense activities diabetics get thirsty easily - even in cool season. This sign of diabetes is intimately linked to frequent urination. The cause of extreme thirst is a condition call Hyperglycemias (high blood sugar).
Since the body use the urine to flush out the glucose, urine creation lead to dehydration. Consequently the loss of fluid through urine makes diabetics thirsty.
3) Dry Mouth. When dehydration becomes more serious diabetics suffer from this condition as a result of the lack of saliva to mouth..
4) Feeling Lethargic. Regardless of the length of rest diabetics still feel sluggish. This stated of low energy is a sign of diabetes due to the loss of glucose (energy). Again, this is caused by frequent urination.
5) Unexpected Weigh Loss or Weight Gain. Rightfully speaking, weight loss is good news for diabetics. However unanticipated weight loss can spell trouble, as this can mean dehydration, or muscle loss due to high glucose content.
At the other end is weight gain. And unanticipated weight gain is not welcoming news also. It means that the glucose is not converted and use by the body. Instead, because diabetics are resistance to insulin, the glucose gets converted into fats and stored in the body.
6) Blur Vision. Most diabetics (unaware of their condition) overlook this sign of diabetes and that's really dangerous since untreated eyes problem (due to diabetes) can lead to blindness. Yet many diabetics thought that they are just too tired.
7) Slow Healing Cuts and Bruises. Wounds and cuts on the feet obviously took a longer time to heal as a result of nerve damage and poor circulation.
8) Itches and Sores Around the Genital Area. These conditions are frequently mis-diagnosed as thrush. Those who suspect themselves to be diabetic and was previously diagnosed with thrush should immediately undergo medical examination.
9) Gum (Periodontal) Disease. This oral situation is the result of high sugar content in the blood stream. Those suffering from gum disease usually experience pain chewing. For serious case, it may result in teeth loss.
Gum treatment for diabetics is tougher. They need to keep their glucose level under control to effectively treat their gum problem.
10) Hair Thinning or Hair Loss. Lost hair is not replaced as fast because of the diabetic condition. The end consequence is apparent hair loss and thinning.
11) Recurring Infection and Scratch/Dry Skin. This sign of diabetes is due to the high sugar level and poor blood circulation.
12) Numbness and Tingling in Hands and Feet. Commonly known as neuropathy. By the time diabetics encounter this symptom, it usually means that the nervous system has been damaged by the high sugar content.
At this point, it's important to be aware that the sign of diabetes listed above may not be comprehensive. So if you are not well, the best and safest advice to get professional consultation as early as possible. This may help avoid any subsequent complications due to late treatment.

Diabetic Weight Loss Advices: How to Lose More than 10 Pounds and Keep Them Off Safely?
"What happened?" I asked. Obviously I'm surprised to see a "new" Lydia.
Lydia served me a cup of coffee, and we sat on the brown leather sofa in the living room to continue the conversation.
I was intrigued, because I know how hard it was to lose weight for a diabetic.
"Is it the 4 rules you told me about?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Tell me more."
I'm interested to know what diabetic weight loss rules she followed.
About 1/2 a year ago, Lydia decided to work on her overweight problem. She work out a diabetic weight loss program after a thorough research.
After trying out many diabetes diet strategies, she implemented 4 diabetic weight loss rules into her diet planning, which proved to be effective in shedding off unwanted pounds without compromising her medical condition and starving herself.
She will share with you shortly.
But here's a disclaimer before I dived in to disclose Lydia's 4 effective steps to diabetic weight loss management: While it has work tremendously well for Lydia, you should consult you doctor before embarking on any weight loss program. Your condition may not be similar to Lydia's, and we are both not medically trained.
Okay, with that out of the way, let's get back to subject.
To begin with, Lydia had supportive parents who encouraged her to live normally. That kept her going.
As for the ingredients, she only uses organic and fresh ones, which are purchased nearby. It's worth it as these ingredients contain more nutrients and vitamins than those in supermarket.
Fresh poultry and dairy products are also easily available from a nearby farmers' market. She will also seize the opportunity to gather in season fruits and vegetables once there.
Her experience and knowledge gained from diet books and diabetic weight loss recipes taught her to go for in season fruits and vegetables, as this helps her to manage her diabetic weight loss goal better without compromising her health.
Here are Lydia's 4 golden rules to weight loss for diabetic, without having to go through countless hours researching for them.
The rules are:
1) Reduce Snacking
Keep yourself busy. Build a daily routine without having too much idling time. She had a tendency to wonder into the kitchen for a quick snack whenever She was free. By keeping herself occupied, she kept food out of her mind.
And if you absolutely must snack, be choosy. Go for snacks like unsalted nuts, dried unsweetened fruit, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and dark chocolate. That's an easy diabetic weight loss rule, isn't it?
2) Add more Fruits and Vegetables into Your Diet
Introduce more fruits and vegetables into your diabetic weight loss menu. Fresh fruit and vegetables contained many essentials vitamins and minerals needed for healthy body growth. She preferred eating vegetables raw or steaming them so as to retain the vitamins and minerals.
3) Drink More Water
At least 8 glasses per day. That's the recommended. Yet it's still worth mentioning again, as the benefits of drinking water are endless.
One useful tip to remind yourself to drink water is to place bottles of water in front of you all over the house and on the work desk in office. Don't try to drink all the water in 1 go. Instead add a bottle to a new location every 2 days. In this way, you will be more likely to drink more water.
Try it. You'll be amazed by how good you feel drinking plenty of water daily and their effects on your diabetic weight loss regime.
4) Consume Whole Meal instead of White Flour
Replace white flour products with whole meal products especially stone-grounded whole meal. This is tip works so well for Lydia and her diabetic friends that it is now the mandatory rule in their weight loss diet for diabetes collection.
Just remember to go for fresh whole meal with no additional ingredients or preservatives. Don't compromise on this as far as you can.
Whole meal pasta, brown and basmatic rice are also great choice. Your love for whole meal will deepen once you see how much unwanted pounds you can shed on your diabetic weight loss journey.
