The door opened and in front of me stood a slim lady. It's Lydia. But I almost couldn't recognize her although I've not seen her for only 1/2 a year. Could it be the diabetic weight loss rules she told me about?
"What happened?" I asked. Obviously I'm surprised to see a "new" Lydia.
Lydia served me a cup of coffee, and we sat on the brown leather sofa in the living room to continue the conversation.
I was intrigued, because I know how hard it was to lose weight for a diabetic.
"Is it the 4 rules you told me about?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Tell me more."
I'm interested to know what diabetic weight loss rules she followed.
About 1/2 a year ago, Lydia decided to work on her overweight problem. She work out a diabetic weight loss program after a thorough research.
After trying out many diabetes diet strategies, she implemented 4 diabetic weight loss rules into her diet planning, which proved to be effective in shedding off unwanted pounds without compromising her medical condition and starving herself.
She will share with you shortly.
But here's a disclaimer before I dived in to disclose Lydia's 4 effective steps to diabetic weight loss management: While it has work tremendously well for Lydia, you should consult you doctor before embarking on any weight loss program. Your condition may not be similar to Lydia's, and we are both not medically trained.
Okay, with that out of the way, let's get back to subject.
To begin with, Lydia had supportive parents who encouraged her to live normally. That kept her going.
As for the ingredients, she only uses organic and fresh ones, which are purchased nearby. It's worth it as these ingredients contain more nutrients and vitamins than those in supermarket.
Fresh poultry and dairy products are also easily available from a nearby farmers' market. She will also seize the opportunity to gather in season fruits and vegetables once there.
Her experience and knowledge gained from diet books and diabetic weight loss recipes taught her to go for in season fruits and vegetables, as this helps her to manage her diabetic weight loss goal better without compromising her health.
Here are Lydia's 4 golden rules to weight loss for diabetic, without having to go through countless hours researching for them.
The rules are:
1) Reduce Snacking
Keep yourself busy. Build a daily routine without having too much idling time. She had a tendency to wonder into the kitchen for a quick snack whenever She was free. By keeping herself occupied, she kept food out of her mind.
And if you absolutely must snack, be choosy. Go for snacks like unsalted nuts, dried unsweetened fruit, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and dark chocolate. That's an easy diabetic weight loss rule, isn't it?
2) Add more Fruits and Vegetables into Your Diet
Introduce more fruits and vegetables into your diabetic weight loss menu. Fresh fruit and vegetables contained many essentials vitamins and minerals needed for healthy body growth. She preferred eating vegetables raw or steaming them so as to retain the vitamins and minerals.
3) Drink More Water
At least 8 glasses per day. That's the recommended. Yet it's still worth mentioning again, as the benefits of drinking water are endless.
One useful tip to remind yourself to drink water is to place bottles of water in front of you all over the house and on the work desk in office. Don't try to drink all the water in 1 go. Instead add a bottle to a new location every 2 days. In this way, you will be more likely to drink more water.
Try it. You'll be amazed by how good you feel drinking plenty of water daily and their effects on your diabetic weight loss regime.
4) Consume Whole Meal instead of White Flour
Replace white flour products with whole meal products especially stone-grounded whole meal. This is tip works so well for Lydia and her diabetic friends that it is now the mandatory rule in their weight loss diet for diabetes collection.
Just remember to go for fresh whole meal with no additional ingredients or preservatives. Don't compromise on this as far as you can.
Whole meal pasta, brown and basmatic rice are also great choice. Your love for whole meal will deepen once you see how much unwanted pounds you can shed on your diabetic weight loss journey.
